Sword and Fairy: Together Forever Reveals New Gameplay Overview Trailer

Independent developer and publisher Eastasiasoft Limited today released a new gameplay overview trailer for the Chinese mythology-based action RPG Sword and Fairy: Together Forever, a brand new standalone entry in the storied franchise. The new gameplay trailer showcases real-time combat, outstanding graphics, interesting characters and much more. Sword and Fairy: Together Forever will release on PS5 and PS4 in North America, Europe and Australia on August 4th.

You begin your Sword and Fairy: Together Forever journey with young deity warrior, Xiu Wu, as he infiltrates the demon realm and is pursued by fierce and powerful forces. As he attempts to build up enough power to open up a portal out of the realm, Xiu Wu encounters a demon lord and suffers a crushing defeat… Saved from death at the last possible moment and expelled to the human realm, Xiu Wu finds his fate by the side of a young woman, Yue Qingshu, who is also highly skilled with a sword. As the conflict between deities, demons and neighbouring human clans threatens the peace of Qingshu’s village, she and Xiu Wu must embark on a quest to restore peace.

As the world opens up, players will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of terrains and lands, from flower-covered vistas with waterfalls and rainbows, to the hardened majesty of the demon kingdom, wide and colourful countryside, to the sea beyond the coast. Thorough exploration will offer the player the chance to uncover unexpected secrets, often with valuable treasures and rare items as a reward. Players should expect to overcome danger on their travels, with hoards of mystical creatures traversing the lands. In Sword and Fairy: Together Forever, encountering and battling these creatures occurs in real-time. Enemies are visible on the field, allowing players to attack or attempt to avoid them. Once attacked, players can unleash a fury of hits on their foes with combos growing lengthier and more deadly as characters level up.

In Sword and Fairy: Together Forever, epic boss battles punctuate the action and drive the story forward. These screen-filling showdowns will require quick thinking strategy and the combined might of the whole party to survive. Not every encounter is an enemy though as players will meet and befriend spirit animals with mystical abilities. Once these creatures join the party they can be raised to become even more powerful and players can pet and interact with these adorable creatures. As players explore, some NPCs can be challenged to a card battle mini-game featuring warriors, demons deities and creatures with different elemental alignments, strengths and weaknesses.

With its beginnings in 1995, the Sword and Fairy RPG series has captured the hearts and imagination of Chinese-speaking players for decades. Now, in 2022, Sword and Fairy: Together Forever advances mechanics and graphics presentation into the next generation. Powered by Unreal Engine 4, Sword and Fairy: Together Forever features intense real-time combat and vast detailed environments to explore, complemented by depth and engaging storytelling that have defined the franchise since its inception. This is a standalone RPG epic that can be enjoyed equally by long-time fans or newcomers without prior knowledge of the series, one that Eastasiasoft Limited is exceptionally proud to bring to new audiences worldwide.

Sword and Fairy: Together Forever was originally developed by Softstar Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. Eastasiasoft Limited will publish digitally in the west.
