Bonk: Brink of Extinction Video with Pics

If you are old enough to remember the time when little creatures and deformed looking humans (or primates) were the mascots of the available systems then you probably remember Bonk and his three releases on the Turbo Grafx-16 system (he later crossed over to Nintendo systems with releases on the NES, SNES and even Gameboy).  Well, Hudson Entertainment is not resting on their laurels on this recent “remake a classic and release it on a newer console” craze that we are experiencing (and if companies keep the level of quality up, it should be a welcome addition to any gaming library).

Some historical information on Bonk includes, the original being released on the Turbo Grafx-16 in 1990, the first Bonk, Bonk’s Adventure was the first TG-16 title to be released on the Virtual Console and a tidbit of interest, he starred in a shooter called Air Zonk (something different).  Brink of Extinction brings online co-op play and other downloadables to the series for the first time.

“As one of the most recognizable characters in gaming history, the return of Bonk has been widely requested by fans for years,” said Sabine Duvall, Vice President of Product Development at Hudson Entertainment. “Bonk: Brink of Extinction will delight fans as well as new gamers with its retro yet modern gameplay, updated graphics and online play!”

Bonk: Brink of Extinction is an original title based on the Bonk character and will be released on PSN, Xbox Live and WiiWare.
