Publisher Iceberg Interactive is elated to have signed a worldwide publishing agreement for Into The Stars, the debut title from start-up developer Fugitive Games. The recently formed team at Fugitive brings immeasurable experience from studios, such as DICE, Capcom and SCEA, where members worked on numerous triple-A titles, such as Battlefield, Lost Planet and Medal of Honor.
Into The Stars has already shown promise from its appearance on Kickstarter where, despite the vast array of videogame titles, Fugitive managed to raise 130% of their target for Into The Stars while the game was also Greenlit by the Steam community in an amazing three days. Additionally, Fugitive took home a Best-in-Play award at this year’s GDC.
Into The Stars (PC/Mac) is a single player open-world journey through a distant solar system. Players take the role of Captain as they explore a massive star system in search of a new home for humanity. Players outfit their ships, select their crew and set off on a journey where they must scavenge resources, shelter civilians and outrun a hostile alien force in order to survive.
The soundtrack for Into The Stars was written by legendary composer Jack Wall, renowned for his music scores in titles like Mass Effect, Call of Duty and Lost Planet.
“As our fans know, we love sci-fi and space games at Iceberg Interactive, and being able to take the role of a Starship Captain, making decisions on the very survival of the human race is right up our street. We have the utmost confidence in Fugitive’s abilities to create an epic experience, and we are very much looking forward to showing our audience just how great a job these guys have done putting Into The Stars together, very soon”, says Erik Schreuder, CEO at Iceberg Interactive.
“Our team at Fugitive is made up of only four developers, and solidifying a strong partner to help fill in the gaps will ensure that Into the Stars is the robust title that our fans deserve. Iceberg Interactive has a firm appreciation of the sci-fi genre that, along with their focus on quality, makes them an excellent choice to publish the game this summer”, noted Ben Jones, Development Director at Fugitive Games.
