Konami Digital Entertainment announced that Assault Heroes is now available on the Playstation 3 through the Playstation Network (AH was formerly available only on Xbox Live Arcade). What sets Assault Heroes apart from most of the downloadable games on the various networks is the graphics, check the pics, this looks a lot more like a retail release than a download title.
Players are placed in the unenviable role of being the only surviving members of an extremely elite Special Forces Unit that has to find a secret underground lab that is home to a volatile weapons lab. Military training, weapons expertise and quick mobility are just about all you have on your side when taking on the enemy in Assault Heroes.
Multiplayer is limited only to local 2-player mode, no network gaming on this one folks.
“We wanted to bring Assault Heroes back to a new platform and make it better than ever for both old fans and new to discover,” said David Daniels, Director of Marketing of Konami Digital Entertainment Inc. “As the latest downloadable game from Konami, Assault Heroes provides non-stop, explosive action that is unlike any other 3D war shooter game.”
Additional items of interest include 12 trophies, three stages of difficulty, bonus levels, competitive rankings, online leader boards and many many aliens to destroy. Weapons include flak cannons, flamethrowers, sub-zero freezing ice cannons, nukes and grenades.
