Square Enix today announces a totally re-imagined version of the award-winning physics based puzzle platformer SolaRola is now available on the Apple App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, and on Google Play for a number of Android devices.
SolaRola has been fully redeveloped to offer players brand new cartoon-style graphics, an out-of-this-world storyline and intuitive touch and tilt-based controls.
SolaRola stars Wiz and Waz, the game’s blob-like gung-ho duo, tasked with bouncing across a number of mazy planets with the ultimate aim of saving the galaxy. Using whatever comes to hand, the daring pairing must thwart the plans of their nemesis, Ping the Unmerciless and release the four guardians of SolaRola’s universe.
“With its redeveloped physics based gameplay and touch and tilt-based controls, SolaRola is a perfect fit for mobile, and is even more relevant to today’s audience than when we launched the original back in 2007,” comments Antony Douglas, General Manager Mobile at Square Enix Europe.
With each planet inhabited by all manner of enemies and hazards, players must navigate across a number of obstacles including rocks, slime, bombs and trampolines.
Both are susceptible to the planets’ gravity, so items must be strategically placed to guide them past the many obstructions and creatures that patrol the environments. As the game progresses, so the creatures get more aggressive, while the addition of volcanic worlds and razor-sharp hazards are a constant threat to the future of blobkind.
The SolaRola App is available for $0.99 from the App Store on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch or for Android devices.
