Off-road racing fans have been waiting for the arrival of Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 for some time now. Today, 2XL Games announced that racing fans can finally experience the adrenaline rush of racing in Rally Cars, Pro Buggies and Pro Lite Trucks.
According to developer 2XL Games, Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad ‘tosses out the needless, most tedious aspects of racing games in favor of a game that is truly fun.’ The game is chock-full of features such as multiplayer, vehicle upgrades, 60 frames per second and a full 1080p HD presentation. It also includes eight-player multiplayer dynamic interactions between all competing vehicles so players can see and feel the impact of mid-race collisions.
Career mode follows Jeremy’s bid for the Pro2 championship within the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. Utilizing 2XL Games’ proprietary XLR8 engine, all this arcade racing action takes place inside a persistent game world that presents challenge after challenge at 60 frames per second in crispy 1080p.
“Looking back on the previous generation of games, there were a lot of great racers out there that were simply a lot of fun. They were inspiring,” said Robb Rinard, creative director at 2XL Games. “We wanted to recapture what was great about those games while making something our own. I’m proud of what we’ve created, and I’m more than ready to take on some challengers online.”
Jeremy McGarth’s Offroad is now available for Xbox Live for Xbox 360 (800 Microsoft Points) and for Playstation Network for Playstation 3 ($9.99).
