Since its release almost a year ago, the Early Access game Police Simulator: Patrol Officers has been delighting fans of virtual police work on PC with a constant pipeline of new content, tasks and features. The sixth content update is now close to entering its beta phase: From May 31, 2022, the police officers of the Brighton Police Department will have new options for traffic control. The aptly named Traffic Management update will become an official part of the game on June 28th, 2022.
Controlling traffic – for example to secure the scene of an accident – is part of everyday life for the patrol officers in the busy streets of the fictional US East Coast metropolis of Brighton. With the Traffic Management update, they can now ensure the safety of citizens even better. The update enables them to block off entire streets or individual lanes with the help of traffic cones and barriers. Bystanders, passers-by and witnesses may be instructed to wait at a location designated by police officers, to not use one of the sidewalks or to turn around, and choose an alternate route to their destination. Vehicles can also be asked to either wait (already available during the beta phase) or to drive back in the other direction (available at the final release of the update).
In addition to the new features, the Traffic Management update offers players a number of bug fixes and improvements such as improved NPV reaction to sirens and reaction near intersections, NPV lane switching behavior or NPC behavior near patrol vehicles, as well as the modding option to customize siren sounds, lightbar light patterns, and other lighting of their police vehicles.
Anyone who would like to test the Traffic Management update in its beta phase will have the opportunity to do so from May 31, 2022 on a beta branch set up specifically for this purpose on Steam. As with previous updates, the Police Simulator: Patrol Officers team is looking forward to lots of constructive feedback on the official communication channels such as Steam, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Discord or the Roadmap.
Police Simulator: Patrol Officers by developer Aesir Interactive and publisher astragon Entertainment is available in early access for PC via Steam™ and the official astragon homepage for 19.99 Euro/USD 24.99/17.99 GBP (RSP).
