The Gallery – Episode 1: Call of the Starseed – Launching on Steam April 5th

Take your first brave step into virtual reality and explore The Gallery: Episode 1 – Call of the Starseed. In a desperate bid to find your missing sister, Elsie, you will embark on a mysterious adventure filled with bizarre characters, and a cosmic machine filled with dark secrets.

The Gallery is a first-person narrative adventure, built from the ground up for VR. Developed by Cloudhead Games, a studio known for innovation in the VR space and brought to life by AAA talent ranging from Bioware, Relic, Riot and EA. The Gallery channels inspiration from dark fantasy adventure films of the 1980s such as Goonies or Labyrinth, filled with environments and mechanics specifically crafted for virtual reality with full motion-control and room-scale.

Traverse richly detailed VR environments such as derelict beaches, abandoned sewers, quirky laboratories and a mysterious machine using Cloudhead’s Blink Locomotion system, in one of the first commercially announced, fantasy adventure VR game franchises. Solve puzzles unique to VR with complete freedom of movement using your body and hands. Enjoy a captivating score by award-winning composer Jeremy Soule.

“So many of the things we’ve done in The Gallery are completely new. There were no pre-baked solutions, no standards when we started this adventure in 2013,” says Cloudhead Games CEO Denny Unger. “What we’re striving for is to give consumers a great introduction to VR and to build their excitement for the future of the medium as a whole. VR done right can make you feel like a kid again and it can give you all the excuses you need to lose yourself in the moment — to simply play!”

Delve into the mystery on April 5th when The Gallery: Episode 1 — Call of the Starseed launches on Steam for the HTC Vive.
