Finnish game developer Frozenbyte, creators of the Trine series, is thrilled to announce that their colorful new platformer Splot finally has a set App Store release date – October 23rd. Splot will be a Universal App and will be priced at $3.99. Humble Frozenbyte Bundle buyers will receive the Windows version of Splot on the same date.
Splot tells the story of a bouncy blue alien, who has crash landed onto a strange planet along with his adversaries, the Hungry Blobs. A native population of birdlings is now in danger of being eaten by the Hungry Blobs, and the courageous Splot sets out to rescue them.

Splot combines the easy to learn gameplay mechanics of a modern mobile title with the depth and detail of an old-school platformer, with sharp new controls and crispy visuals. The gameplay of Splot is fast-paced platforming, where your goal is to reach all the captured birdlings in time before the Hungry Blobs eat them.
You’ll have to maneuver carefully around dangerous obstacles like lasers, spikes, and lava, while racing to the end of the levels as fast as possible. On your journey you will level up and be able to upgrade special powerups that help you in different types of scenarios.
Splot is playable on three different difficulties, where the speed of your opponents is increased and the dangerousness of the levels goes up. Upon completing levels you’ll also gather puzzle pieces that can be opened to unlock over 150 different playable Splot characters.
