InnoGames announced today, that its strategic browser game Forge of Empires has reached 1,000,000 players so far. The game, which is playable in 18 languages, went into open beta at the end of April. This is the most successful start in InnoGames’ history. Forge of Empires has also been nominated recently as best Browser Game at the European Games Awards. The awards are open for public votes until Monday, August 13.
Additionally, Forge of Empires will receive an update next week, containing a series of new features. From then on, players will not only be able to trade for free within their guilds, but they can also replace residential buildings with their more effective counterparts more easily. On top of that, the new neighborhood merging system dynamically puts players of the same rank and activity in close proximity. All changes are aimed at improving the multiplayer aspects of the game.
Forge of Empires is a browser-based strategy game, where players, tasked with leading their own city to prosperity can research new technologies, build impressive historical buildings and enlarge their sphere of influence through military campaigns and skillful dealing. Other players’ cities can be visited and, while admiring structures and placement of buildings, be supported by polishing decorations or motivating workers for increased happiness or resource outcome. The game also contains a long-term single player campaign, as well as an ever-growing number of PvP-features, which offer months of entertainment.
