Konami Digital Entertainment, today launched the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection in North America for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Featuring three complete games, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, this special re-mastered HD set retails at $49.99.

From the critically acclaimed director, Hideo Kojima, the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection offers a handful of the most popular Metal Gear Solid titles from the past in true HD. Since its inception in 1998, the Metal Gear Solid franchise has been one of the most successful game series on any console receiving worldwide recognition and praise. Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty has received high accolades from nearly all major publications and websites.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, a prequel to the entire Metal Gear Solid series, followed in 2004. Released in 2010 for the PlayStation Portable, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is the fourth Metal Gear Solid title for the PSP and has garnered several top gaming industry awards and honors.
The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection includes brand new features such as stunning 1080p graphics, user interface rebalanced for HD, added right analog stick input and force feedback, featured trophies on PS3 and achievements on Xbox 360, worldwide matchmaking for multiplayer and transferring (save data sharing) compatible with PSP version.
Konami will also release a ‘Limited Edition’ version simultaneously for the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. In addition to the games and new features within the games, this exclusive version will contain specialized packaging created by the series lead artist, Yoji Shinkawa, and a 248 page artbook, “The Art of Metal Gear Solid.”
