Dying for Daylight (PC) Review

Dying for Daylight (PC) Review

Dying for a game that you  can sink your teeth into? Charlaine Harris’s Dying for Daylight is the answer for you. You play Dahlia, a vampire looking for the legendary Sun Potion.  This potion is said to allow vampires to walk in the sun.

The story opens with comic book style art that starts the story.  The game is broken down into episodes.  As you complete each section you will move onto the next episode.  Each episode starts with  comic book art.

You start in the “VQ” or Vampire Quarters and move on to other sections the further into the game you get.  Each section will be identified on a map as it becomes available. To get into some areas you will need to complete a puzzle as well.

These puzzles vary in what you do from fixing a broken map to figuring out how to trick an electronic door. The game consists of multiple puzzles and mini games. Within some mini-games there are other games such as find the hidden object game at Gothicandy.

Pictured in the window is the Guillotine game at Gothicandy.  Once your score reaches 10 you will receive a rare trophy.  Many of the puzzles will reward you with items you need to complete other puzzles or rare trophies.

As you complete the episodes,  you will open up other areas in the game.  Traveling is easy to do, you go to your compass icon and open it. There are ovals with a picture of each area that you can travel to.

Click on it and you will be there. For every puzzle/question answered, there will be a new puzzle/question for you to solve. If you have trouble finding something or get stuck, there is a clue bottle available.

For every puzzle that you have, there will be answers to help you find it.  The clue bottle must be recharged between uses and is recharged with time.  The puzzles keep your interest and do not get boring.

Overall, Dying for Daylight is well worth your time.
