Diary of a Hunter – Opening
The Hunter is a free-to-play (f2p) online hunting simulator that is more than just a game. It’s the most realistic hunting game to date with mind-blowing graphics and sound. With a strong user base of 500,000 players, The Hunter should be your first choice in hunting games.
Diary of a Hunter is one hunter’s experience in the wild. It will be an on-going diary that will have weekly/monthly updates with personal in-game journal entries, patch notes, updates, and other material dedicated to TheHunter.com.
Welcome to this week’s Status Update!
Earlier today we had the forum offline for a while for some server maintenance. But of course we can’t just do it like everyone else, instead we did a live stream showing us work at the office and provided a chat. Lot’s of hand waving, but great interacting with you all! 🙂 This time I would like to present another change that will appear end of the month with the release of the new update… Missions – Revisited: Missions are a fun way to explore the game and provide different goals to try to accomplish. However, the way they were designed was quite confusing causing a lot of players to simple miss that there existed missions at all. Being presented as messages was not clear and easily missed, it was hard to get a feeling for your progress and there were a lot of troubles with accepting missions, having new missions appear, and so on. Actually, problems related to missions is one of the most common support issues we have to deal with. So with the greater flexibility we have with the new game server (coming with the update end of this month) we’ve revised the way you interact with missions. There will be a missions page, clearly displaying your current active mission and what missions are available to activate. In the Overview section missions are divided into groups and you can clearly see your progress (you even get a star completing a mission group!). Clicking on a mission will give you the description and objectives with an Activate button (unless the mission is completed or already active). In the Overview section, click a group and it will fold out and display all the missions in the group. Most missions must be unlocked by completing another mission. Clicking a locked mission will clearly state the requirements to unlock it. Although missions are the most visually drastic change we’ve also revised how competitions does work. It’s now possible to join several competitions with the same species at once. It’s possible to join or leave a competition (unless it’s started). We’ve made it easier to see when a competition does begin or end by counting down instead of showing a time and a date (no more timezone confusion), and some other improvements… Yet another change is that we will move to showing scores and measurements with decimals instead of in fraction of eight (1/8) to provide greater precision and avoid to a greater extent having kills end up with the same score in competitions and on the leaderboard. Finally… don’t miss Lion tomorrow live on http://gamer.fm/]GamerFM 1900 GMT (UK time) for some theHunter giveaways!
