Guinness has recognized Kinect as the “Fastest selling consumer electronics device” between November 4th, 2010 and January 3, 2011. According to Guinness, Kinect has sold an average of 133,333 units per day, totaling 8 million units its first 60 days on sale.
“The sales figures here speak for themselves,” said Gaz Deaves, Gaming Editor for Guinness World Records. “After extensive research, we can confirm that no other consumer electronics device sold faster within a 60-day time span, an incredible achievement considering the strength of the sector.”
