Developer System 3 has years of experience and many franchises under their belt. Since the golden days of gaming, they were responsible for classics like The Last Ninja (C64) and International Karate (Amstrad).
During the 16-bit computer era, System 3 released Putty Squad for the Commodore Amiga computer. This whimsical platformer had its protagonist, Putty, on a quest to rescue his kidnapped friends. Both games were extremely popular back in the day.
In the preview build that we evaluated, Putty Squad staid faithful to the original. While it offers enhanced graphics, the same addictive gameplay that made it an instant classic has remained unchanged. Putty still has his charm, amazing elasticity, and awkward personality that fans of the franchise will remember.
Putty Squad offers a strange blend of elements that will not only intrigue gamers, but captivate them. Where else can you find helmet-wearing cats and over sized bullfrogs as enemies? Overall, if the preview build is any indication of the final release, fans of the platform genre will be pleasantly surprised by Putty Squad. As far as we’re concerned, Putty is on the right track.
