The UK’s leading specialist video games retailer today will open its doors to two new areas of Moonbase in PlayStation Home – the Moonbase Shop and the GAME V store.
The Moonbase Shop offers a world first for PlayStation Home users. Using a number of commerce terminals within Moonbase, GAME account customers will be able to view and order from a range of boxed PS3 and PSP games, including latest new releases and back catalogue titles for home delivery.
Paul Howes, general manager of digital services commented:
“We are delighted to offer this world first for PlayStation Home. We are committed to offering a service that delivers games to our customers however and wherever they want it – we hope that Home users will come and see how easy it is get the games they want from Moonbase.”
The GAME V store is accessed via a “jump hole” portal within Moonbase and will sell a range of virtual branded apparel and other branded items for Home avatars and PlayStation Home personal spaces. The GAME V store has a number of items available from launch and will be updated monthly with new items and special Home exclusive promotions in partnership with publishers, developers and other third parties.”
Paul continued: “The GAME V store opens up new areas of opportunity and we hope to develop promotional plans and close working partnerships with publishers of all PlayStation games, including PSN titles, to make Moonbase a vibrant and regular destination for all PlayStation gamers”
To celebrate the opening of both areas free virtual GAME T-shirts will be available from the GAME V store from Thursday.
