Soldner-X 2: The Last Chapter by eastasiasoft is an expansion that concludes mankind’s struggle against the D’aarg. Despite being DLC for the original Soldner-x 2, TLC expands the current selection of features by offering 3 additional levels, 13 new challenges, and 11 additional trophies to an already option-heavy shooter.
The new chapters deliver the same jaw-dropping visuals, intense action, and massive bosses of the earlier levels, and they include new soundtracks not found in the original game. While the new chapters add more of the same gameplay already expected from the original Soldner-X 2 – lengthening an already perfect shooter – it’s the hidden content and extras that really breathe new life into the game.
Like before, secret keys drop from certain enemy ships when destroyed. When all keys for a given level are collected according to the conditions of the Award system, secret content is unlocked. This content can range from weapons to specials that enhance your spacecraft.
Additionally, an assortment of 13 different challenges are available. Defense Belt, which is the first of the new challenges, has you playing Chapter 8 for almost three minutes without losing any health. Once the condition is met, the next is unlocked. The challenges increase in difficulty as you progress. Even hardcore fans of the genre will find their skills tested as they complete each one.
Overall, Soldner-X 2: The Last Chapter is an expansion that compliments the original game. It enriches the experience, extends the game’s longevity, and completes the story while offering new challenges. Soldner X-2: The Last Chapter is well worth the investment.
