Want to be an archeologist but scared of the spiders? Let Mumbo Jumbo’s Samantha Swift and the Hidden Roses of Athena bring your dreams to life. Samantha travels the world to find the best treasures to share with everyone in The Museum of Secrets Lost.
Samantha finds a golden shield that has 6 equally spaced holes that are for the legendary Roses of Athena. When the roses were united, the bearer would possess god-like mastery of the virtues. You have the assistance of Dr Butler and Adam Woodson as you race around the globe trying to beat your nemesis Ravena Stryker to solve the mystery of the golden shield.
The end of the game has a twist that you will need to play to find out what it is. This is a hidden object and puzzle game. You have two views of each screen, an overview and a close up. There is a list of items you must find, if an object is hidden behind another object it will appear in a different color.
These objects will require a tool that you will have to find and are indicated by a box with two gears. When you use the right tool, it will turn a blue/purple color. If you get stuck there is a hint button but after each use, it needs to be recharged. A sonar type display is in the top screen.
When you click an item that is in the list, the outline will show up in the scanner. If you click on a wrong item too many times, the scanner will go dark for a short time. The complexity of the puzzles increases as you go further into the game including going from location to location and using items from multiple areas.
There are puzzles along the way including placing pieces of a statue and rotating the pieces among other things.
I found this game very fun to play and while some items where easy to find, I had to use the hint for some. The puzzles were challenging and took brain power to figure out. Some of the puzzles I had to take a break from and come back and try again. Definitely worth your time to play.
