Microsoft is bringing out an updated, more true to the original form, version of the arcades of yore. Microsoft has shown off their Game Room for Xbox Live Arcade at the CES this year and we have that video along with some nice screens for you to check out.
The idea behind the Game Room is that you will be able to enjoy arcade classics from yesteryear in two forms. One, you can pay 40 Microsoft points to play once just like in a regular arcade (times have changed, there simply aren’t many left) or you can purchase the game in question outright for a small fee (pricing will vary depending on the title in question). One way to look at the pay to play model is that it is like paying 40 MS points to try the game out, if you like it, then you can drop the points to purchase it.
The Retro League has discussed Microsofts Game Room on their podcast (#13 to be exact) so why not head over there, check out their show, watch the video and check out the pics while their podcast is buffering? Microsoft Game Room is a feature coming to Xbox Live Arcade.
