Majesco Entertainment has just announced that they are releasing Pirates Plund-Arrr, a scrolling beat-em up, for the Nintendo Wii console. One of the unique features of PPA is that it is a 4 player beat-em up (not many of these are available to be honest).
The story for Pirates Plund-Arrr places the player on a quest to retrieve your Sceptre of Power from that scallywag Rudebelly. The Sceptre of Power allows the holder to call forth monsters and undead creatures. Levels that will be featured include a swamp and even an Aztec area and the obligatory haunted village (well, that is new, I was thinking more along a haunted house of some sort).
Complementing the 5 weapons, each with variations, that you can acquire during the game players can also use rocks and barrels that are strewn around the levels. Enemies won’t get stale too quick on you since there are over 40 different creatures that need vanquishing. Another unique to this genre is an experience system that will allow gamers to upgrade their characters to cause even more damage to the enemy.
