Developer Scarlet City Studios has confirmed an August 5th, 2016, launch date for the second episode of their hit preteen adventure game, The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance. Entitled Episode 2: The Resistance Takes Flight, this new story installment takes the Resistance’s fight against the evil Usurper to the air with majestic airships.
The Aetherlight initially launched in May 2016 and has quickly found a receptive and growing preteen and family audience with its unique blend of adventure gameplay and allegorical retellings of Bible stories set in an exciting steampunk world.
With a vision to engage players with the Bible in order to inspire outworking in their own lives, as well as in their families, communities, and even national and international causes, Scarlet City further brings together the in-game story with the biblical narrative and a “real-world” call to mission with The Aetherlight: Companion Engines App releasing in conjunction with Episode 2.
The app takes players directly into the biblical text, exploring scriptural parallels and historical context, while simultaneously drawing players into a rich narrative, igniting their imagination toward the significance and the application of the biblical story.
For a limited time, players with an Aetherlight account will have the opportunity to try The Aetherlight: Companion Engines App for free. These Companion Engines are incentivized for players, granting them access upon completion to exclusive in-game outfits and weapons, looping players back into the game. The App will be available for iOS and Android at the App Store and Google Play.
About Episode 2: The Resistance Takes Flight
Episode 2: The Resistance Takes Flight sees the fledgling Resistance set out to power more of the Great Engines around No Man’s Landing. To do this, players will need to enlist the help of two volatile brothers, racers in the Aethasian underground Airship Racing League. When the racing partnership falls apart, a new team will be needed to get the Resistance in the air by any means necessary.
It’s a race against time to retrofit a new ship that’s stranded on the “Flying L” — a floating pit stop with airship racers, swindlers, and a serious goat problem!
Episodes of The Aetherlight are available for PC, Mac, iOS, and Android for $9.99 each and can be downloaded at theaetherlight.com, the Apple App Store, and Google Play (Android).
