July 29, 2019. Today video game developer Beamdog announced Axis & Allies 1942 Online, an official adaptation of the classic board game Axis & Allies 1942 Second Edition, will be released on July 31st, 2019.
The game will come to Steam as an Early Access title for Windows, macOS and Linux, priced at $19.99 USD.
Axis & Allies is a series of World War II strategy board games, revered by history buffs and strategy game enthusiasts worldwide. In Axis & Allies 1942 Second Edition, five major powers struggle for supremacy: Germany and Japan form the Axis powers, while the United Kingdom, the United States and the Soviet Union form the Allied forces.
The game accommodates 2-5 players, each controlling one or more of the Axis or Allied powers. Players command both their country’s military forces and its war-time economy. Victory goes to the side that conquers its opponents on the field of battle and liberates or occupies the greatest cities of the world
