Europa Universalis IV: Conquest of Paradise – Releasing January 31st

Paradox Interactive, a publisher of games and a ticket holder to paradise, today announced the release date for “Conquest of Paradise,” the first expansion to Europa Universalis IV created by Paradox Development Studio.

The expansion, which challenges players to conquer the New World for their ever-expanding empires, will arrive for PC, Mac, and Linux on January 14, 2014. Conquest of Paradise will feature a completely randomized American continent for players to face, as well as Colonial Nations and Native American Nations, in the critically acclaimed empire-building game.

To celebrate the new world being offered in Europa Universalis IV, Paradox has also announced Paradox Short Story Contest 2014, where fans can literally rewrite history. During 2014, Paradox Books will publish an alternate history anthology, featuring stories by a selection of authors including famed alternate history author Harry Turtledove. Players are now invited to submit their own short stories to the anthology.

Three winners will be published in the collection and receive a hard copy signed by the Europa Universalis IV developers as well as a standard writer’s fee for their work. Not only that, the winners will receive the Paradox Collection, a bundle of over 50 games. The ambition of the Paradox Short Story Contest is to spread the word about the storytelling created by players in strategy games.
