Review Score:

A.P.B. Reloaded is finally available at your local retail store. Even though A.P.B. Reloaded is a free-to-play MMORPG, you receive great bonuses for purchasing the retail version.

Everything takes place in the crime-ridden world of San Paro. You can choose to be an enforcer that tries to clean up the streets or fall prey to the criminal element and become part of the problem.

Crimes run rampant throughout the city. Whether you are an enforcer or criminal, there is always something to do in San Paro. On the darker side of things, criminals have many options at their disposal to acquire cash and experience. You can be a mugger, carjacker, or a thief that robs stores by performing smash and grabs from the display windows of local businesses.

If freelancing any of the above doesn’t excite you, there are local crews in the district that will supply you with some missions to do. These can be done alone or in a group. This isn’t your normal MMORPG; going solo will not cut it in San Paro. You can complete some things by yourself, but once an A.P.B is issued against you, you’ll be in a world of hurt.

It is possible to call for backup, but you’re placed in a queue until people join. Sometimes you will get lucky and people will join, and other times you are left to fend for yourself.

Both criminals and enforcers have their own factions that will supply them with missions. Each of the factions will offer different weapons, gear, clothing, skills and vehicles to buy. As you progress in your standing with the factions, you will unlock different types of weapons. Some weapons are based on your character rank and others are based on your faction rank(s).

The higher your character rank is, the more weapons and vehicles that will become available to you. Certain vehicles, gear, skills and clothing can be found in the auction house in the Social District. The only things that can’t be found on the open market are weapons. You will either have to buy them from the Armas (the item shop) or from your local faction.

A.P.B Reloaded is like being in your own personal virtual world where crime pays, but only if you don’t get caught by the enforcers first. This is Grand Theft Auto flipped over on its side. The world of San Paro is a massive, open-ended world, where just cruising around in your new ride – just to show it off to the competition –  is a must.

You have the ability to customize everything in the Social District. You can design graffiti for tagging, tattoos, clothing and more. Some items can be sold for large amounts of cash. It’s common to find people spending countless hours designing their own clothing lines or even car designs.

It’s all up to you; the game focuses heavily on customizing, socializing, and hanging out when you’re not stealing, robbing, or running missions. A.P.B. Reloaded allows you to do whatever you want, and it doesn’t push you to grind levels to enter a dungeon/instance.

Another great feature is the enormous amount of licensed music that is available. While driving, you can listen to music as you speed wildly through the streets of San Paro. There is everything from Rap and HipHop to Rock ‘n Roll and Death Metal. There is so much music to listen to, you are bound to find something to your liking.

But if this is not enough, there is an option to make a playlist with your own music. This adds endless possibilities, especially if you grow tired of the music selection in-game.

Gamersfirst just added the Fight Club in their latest update, just in time for the retail release of A.P.B Reloaded. Fight Club is a massive death match that pits the criminals against the enforcers in a no-holds-barred free-for-all. This is a great way to take a break from the actual game and blow off some steam. And since Fight Club death matches are always populated with players, there is never a dull moment. Plus, you can earn extra money and unlock new gear to purchase.

As of right now, there are two different Fight Club maps/types you can compete in — Beacon and Baylan. Each are modeled after the two different districts in the game world. Beacon allows you to have twelve versus twelve death matching action, while Baylan allows for sixteen versus sixteen. With new challenges on the horizon for Fight Club, there will be good things in store for gamers.

Gamersfirst has done an incredible job bringing a free-to-play product to market that has multiple updates every month. With constant updates keeping things fresh, there is always something different being added to the world of San Paro.

In A.P.B. Reloaded, the best is sorted out by their style of clothing and the amount of  hot rubber they leave on the city streets. Just make sure you never leave without packing some heat, because in this game you don’t go looking for trouble, it looks for you.
