Gameforge – Breaks 300 Million Registered Users

Gameforge AG, Europe’s leading provider of free-to-play online games, today announced that its number of registered users has passed the 300 million mark. This highlights the uninterrupted growth of the company and is evidence of its global leadership in the online gaming sector. For comparison purposes, Gameforge’s registered user population would make it the world’s fourth largest country behind the United States, according to the latest census figures.

“Our current focus is on process optimization and consolidation, but our growth continues to progress unabated”, said Christoph Jennen, Gameforge AG’s CFO. “Although we are incredibly proud of this milestone, we are still motivated to continue our exponential growth. We are strategically expanding our portfolio and are looking for new staff – in Karlsruhe alone we currently have around 100 open positions.”

Gameforge has seen an impressive and rapid player expansion — adding 100 million registered users since August 2010, or more than 8 million new users each month. The company expects further growth from upcoming products, most notably Star Trek – Infinite Space, which has been announced for 2011. Star Trek – Infinite Space is the first official browser game set in the Star Trek universe and will mark a new era for the genre in terms of visuals.

Gameforge players are welcomed not only on the respective websites of the games, but also on the company’s central web platform www.gameforge.com. This is the central place where online gamers from around the world meet. In addition to gripping browser games and in-depth MMORPGs, Gameforge.com also offers a rapidly growing community for gaming fans. Registered users receive a variety of information on their favorite games and have the opportunity to compare their achievements using high scores or the G-Card.
