XBL is a fantastic way to enjoy your day. Like the PSN, you can challenge some of the best gamers from around the world. It doesn’t matter if you’re playing Alien Breed, Castle Crashers, Encleverment Experiment, or Street Fighter IV; there is something for everyone. During the Holiday shopping season, there was one feature missing that Microsoft (and even Sony) should consider in a future update.
Like many of us, we have friends and family on XBL that we play with on a daily basis. While browsing the many reduced titles in the Arcade section, a thought occurred to me. It would be nice to have the option to purchase a game title for a friend or family member on XBL using my XBOX 360. The Steam network has been offering the ‘send a gift’ option for quite some time now, and it is a fantastic idea. Why hasn’t this option been adopted by Microsoft or Sony on their networks? It would be nice to purchase some Microsoft points for a family member and then send it off to his/her XBL account as a gift. The possibilities are endless. Login to XBL, select the item(s) you want to purchase from the marketplace, send them off to the friend / family member of your choice, and then sit back, relax, and play a few games of Castle Crashers.
Microsoft and Sony should consider this option. Imagine the convenience it would bring to their customers. Not only would it make Holiday shopping easier for XBL and PSN gamers, but it would bolster network sales on both platforms. It is something to consider.
