7 Wonders II (Review) Nintendo DS

7 Wonders II (Review) Nintendo DS

Ever wish you could have helped to build the 7 Wonders of the World?  Mumbo Jumbo’s 7 Wonders II allows you to do just that.  You match 3 of the same runes, when you match four you will get an ice ball that will clear the row when swapped with another rune.  When you match 5 runes you get a fire ball.

This allows you to clear both the row and column.  After matching several ice and fire balls you will get a dice.  When activated, the dice will clear 15+ runes.  You want to clear the board as well as get the stones to the bottom of the board.  The board comes in many shapes, each one harder as you progress in the game.  As you complete each board you get to build the 7 Wonders of the World.  The runes will make bricks that are used to build the wonders.  For each board that is completed you will be awarded a certain number of “blocks” that you pick where to place.  Each board has a clock.

If you fail to clear the board within the time limit, you will lose a life.  What ever time is left over, you will be awarded extra points.  With each wonder, there is a matching rune (the game will tell you what the matching rune is).  As you build the Wonders, you get bonuses in the game, such as being able to clear whole columns, delete all the runes of a certain type, being able to clear all runes in an X shape, among others.

7 Wonders is a fun game to play.  The game provides challenging levels for all ages.  Mumbo Jumbo included a brief history of each wonder.  If you look at the top screen, you will see workers that carry the bricks to build the wonders.  If the workers do not have things to do, after a while they will strike.  Each bonus gets charged as you clear the level.  If there are no matches, the game will tell you and shuffle the pieces around.  There is also the option to shuffle the runes yourself.

As you complete each wonder, the bonuses will include a fully charged shuffle bar, sped up workers, 2x the building material.

There is also the bonus levels.   These levels give you so many moves to clear the board and clear a star.  If you fail to do this the first time, you can hit undo until you are back to the beginning.  This adds a challenge to the game.  Once you complete all 7 Wonders, you can replay the game and try to get a higher score.  You also have the option of Free Play; this allows you to choose where you want to play.  Overall, this is an excellent game for people of all ages, whether you have 5 minutes or 2 hrs, this game will provide hours of entertainment.
