Call of Juarez: The Cartel – Now Available

Today, Ubisoft announced that Call of Juarez: The Cartel is now available at retailers throughout North America for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The Windows PC version will be released on September 13, 2011. Developed by Techland, this first-person shooter features an immerse storyline with a rich cast of characters and intense gameplay. Players will embark on a journey through a modern day Wild West where the end justifies the means and lawlessness runs rampant.

When a Mexican drug cartel bombs a US law enforcement agency, the US government puts together a special task force to bring them down. Enter LAPD cop Ben McCall, DEA agent Eddie Guerra and FBI agent Kim Evans, each of whom bring their own special skills, personal demons and unique story to the game. As one of these protagonists, players will fight to dismantle the Cartel through the streets of Los Angeles to Ciudad Juarez.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel features an intense campaign experience that can be enjoyed with up to two friends; partake in punitive raids, tough interrogations, car chases and more. Adding depth to the three-player cooperative mode is the new co-opetition system. A mix of cooperation and competition, co-opetition has players not only working together, but against each other in secret missions and challenges. Players who successfully complete these tasks are rewarded experience points that can be used to level up and unlock more powerful weapons. Expose a partners dirty secret and the spoils are yours!

The game also includes two multiplayer modes that are full of exciting features to provide an all-encompassing experience. Team Death Match pits cops against criminals. This mode has a host of rewards and challenges that put a strong emphasis on teamwork. Objective-based Mode is a mission-driven struggle in which two sides fight to complete a series of goals. Both modes can accommodate up to 12 players for six versus six matches.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel is rated M for Mature and carries a price tag of $59.99
