I-play Launches Bubble Town: Party Planet for Facebook

I-Play, the game publishing division of Oberon Media and publisher of Agatha Christie Dead Man’s Folly (reviewed here) among other great titles has released Bubble Town: Party Planet for Facebook.  Bubble Town shares gameplay with Bust-a-Move (available for just about every system you can find), a great game in it’s own right.  I-Play is building up excitement in Bubble Town: Party Planet by running a contest with prizes such as one 8GB iPod touch with Bubble Town 2, one copy of Bubble Town Deluxe for PC or Mac, and one prize of 10,000 BubbleBucks to spend in Bubble Town: Party Planet.

“Bubble Town is the game that started it all for social gaming on Facebook,” says Oberon Chief Strategy Officer, Ofer Leidner. “Since then, we have seen phenomenal success with the franchise across all platforms. With the integration of the BubbleBucks virtual economy and other new innovative features on Facebook, fans will now be able to make in-game purchases and compete with friends like never before.”

Gameplay in Bubble Town: Party Planet is just like other Bust-a-Move titles, you are at the bottom of the screen and have a collection of little creatures at the top of the screen that need to be matched up and removed (this gets hard later as not only do you have to match up colored creatures, there are additional challenges placed on the player such as having to wake them up).  What is unique in the gameplay department is that you have a set number of creatures to shoot and make matches with, when you run out, the playfield lowers slightly (in BaM it would drop based on weight or time spent on the level).

Another unique aspect for BT:PP is that you have “BubbleBucks”  to purchase in game items to help you make it farther than before.  Also, there is an Achievement Board (definitely something that more games will be incorporating which helps retain gamer interest) where progress is displayed for the world to see.

“Bubble Town: Party Planet allows players to discover more levels and advance faster through the game,” says Daniela Teverovsky, creator of the largest Bubble Town fan page on Facebook. “It’s a very addictive game, and I know fans will love the new version.”

Bubble Town: Party Planet has a few new things that help set it apart from other similar titles and will surely add to the running tally of 130 million players that have enjoyed it on various platforms.
