Fast Draw Showdown Coming to WiiWare

How many people remember the Full Motion Video (FMV) games from the early to mid 90’s?  Remember the limiting gameplay they had, the laughable graphics (at least on consoles like the Turbo Grafx-16 and Sega CD, though on PC they were pretty clear and looking good at least)?  In arcades there were quite a few of these games, one company made a career pretty much from these type of games, American Laser Games.

That brings us to the reason for this post (other than me being able to point and say I posted something).  American Laser Games had released a game call Fast Draw Showdown (one more title in their Western themed series that also included Mad Dog McCree 1 and 2).  The point of FDS is to, well, out draw your opponent in a showdown in the streets of the dirt road town as a lawman (the difficulty levels make this distinction as they are not “easy” to “hard” they are “Deputy” and “Sheriff” and “Marshal”).

In the arcades FDS was unique for the fact that you walked up to the arcade game and stood there on either side of the game gun that is sitting in a holster.

As you can tell, the video is letterboxed, though, not in the normal horizontal orientation.  This game will be interesting to see on an HD widescreen with the letterboxing going vertically here).  FDS will be made available on WiiWare (it is already available from Digital Leisure on PC, having been released way back in 2004).
